What, then, shall we say in response to these things?\u00a0If God is for us,\u00a0who can be against us?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n

Romans 8:31<\/p>\n\n

\u201cWhat shall we say to these things?\u201d\u00a0<\/em><\/strong>\u00a0The Apostle Paul \u2013 referenced some incredible truths with this question.\u00a0\u00a0He had just described in the previous verses the facts about one\u2019s salvation \u2013 the life change that comes through Jesus Christ.\u00a0\u00a0Paul then offered, “what else is there to say?” And, h<\/em>e answered this question with a question to prove a powerful and conclusive argument:\u00a0\u201cif God is for us who can be against us?\u201d\u00a0\u00a0<\/em>And, does he ever have a point!\u00a0\u00a0So, if you have experienced salvation through Jesus Christ, then the question is posed to you personally:\u00a0if God is for you (and He is, as proven through Jesus), then who or what could actually be against you?<\/em><\/p>\n\n

\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/em>From this creative communication of rhetorical questions (so common with Paul\u2019s writings), consider the following 2 absolutes of the Christian faith.\u00a0\u00a0First, God is for you<\/strong>.\u00a0\u00a0He is truly for you.\u00a0\u00a0If He did not withhold His own Son from you, how will He not give you all things necessary for your life of faith (Romans 8:32).\u00a0\u00a0He is for you! Measured by the first fact, the second is just as absolute:\u00a0\u00a0nothing can come against you<\/strong>.\u00a0\u00a0Nothing! Reading to the end of Romans 8 proves this with two lists: the natural things (verse 35) and the cosmic, or supernatural things (verse 38).\u00a0\u00a0This all-inclusive reference proves the simplicity and profoundness of the truth that \u201cnothing comes against you.\u201d\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n\n

\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/em>\u00a0<\/em>Today, perhaps you do not feel the essence of this truth practically. Perhaps today, life seems to cause such truths to feel more theoretical than realized. While this may seem so, please understand that the above statement is everlastingly absolute.\u00a0\u00a0Nothing comes against you.\u00a0\u00a0Better translated, nothing comes against your faith.\u00a0\u00a0Even more deeply translated, nothing comes against the hope that is in you.\u00a0<\/em><\/strong>\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n\n

\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/em>So, today, Romans 8:31 gives you the reminder of the steadfastness of your faith in Jesus Christ. Because faith in Jesus represents your true identity, nothing comes against you.\u00a0\u00a0In sickness, your faith is untouched.\u00a0\u00a0In epidemics or pandemics, your faith is untouched.\u00a0\u00a0When global crisis sets in, or when there is a momentary struggle with doubt and uncertainty, your faith in Christ remains untouched.\u00a0<\/em>\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n\n

\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/em>While we know that faith grows weak and faith can become challenged, the Bible never measures the quality of faith based on human ability.\u00a0\u00a0Faith is a God-perspective\u00a0of<\/em>\u00a0life and a Christ-centered responsiveness\u00a0to<\/em>\u00a0life.\u00a0\u00a0So, while tumultuous events circle around you, the faith of the soul remains unscathed.\u00a0\u00a0What a promise!\u00a0\u00a0What a joy.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n\n

\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/em>So, today, realize God is for you, and nothing comes against you successfully.\u00a0\u00a0Rest in this truth today.\u00a0\u00a0And\u00a0<\/em>rejoice<\/em><\/p>\n\n
