Lives lost.\u00a0\u00a0Families changed forever.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\">That day, heroes were born out of tragedy.\u00a0\u00a0That day proved the bravery and selflessness of the police, fire fighters, and other emergency responders.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\">On this 20<sup>th<\/sup>\u00a0anniversary of 9\/11, the memories may have softened for some. And, for an entire generation born after 9\/11, the horrific images of this event or only remembered from the pages of history.\u00a0\u00a0But for those who can personally recall the initial impact of this day, memories remain vivid as the loss of precious and innocent lives still affects us.\u00a0\u00a0And, honor deserving of those who sacrificed their lives in rescue efforts remains emotionally embedded in our hearts.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\">So, today, take time to remember.\u00a0\u00a0Remember those lost in the 9\/11 attack.\u00a0\u00a0Remember their families.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\">Remember the heroism.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\">Remember the immediate desperation of pray and dependence upon one another.\u00a0\u00a0Remember how houses of worship filled as hurting, confused, and fearful hearts sought for God.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\">Remember the unified grasp across our nation and world of the mutual value of human life.\u00a0\u00a0Remember the dependence upon, and respect for one another as we all felt the same impact.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\">And as you remember, pause.\u00a0\u00a0Look around you at this moment. Thank God for your life and health. Thank God for your family.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\">Thank God for the freedoms we have. Thank God for those who still serve as heroes.\u00a0\u00a0Thank God that you can worship in freedom regardless of your venue of worship.\u00a0\u00a0Look around you, pause, and thank God. Because sometimes it seems we have forgotten the blessings amid the surmounting complaints divisions, protests, political attacks, etc.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\">And, sometimes it takes a day of memorial to be reminded of life\u2019s fragileness.\u00a0\u00a0So, make the most of your present moment, your present relationships, your present job, your present education, your present circumstance.\u00a0\u00a0Make the most of every single opportunity you have received, for that opportunity is indeed a gift.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\">And, the only sure way to make the most of every opportunity is to turn to Jesus Christ, afresh and anew in faith.\u00a0\u00a0Hold to the belief that He is the risen Son of God and has purchased life everlasting.\u00a0\u00a0Stand firm in the truth of God\u2019s unending love, forgiveness, mercy, and grace.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\">Today, remember.\u00a0\u00a0Today, be thankful.\u00a0\u00a0And, today, ask God to show you how to make the most of this present moment.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\">\u201c<em>Be very careful, then, how you live\u2014not as unwise but as wise,\u00a0making the most of every opportunity<\/em>\u201d (Ephesians 5:15-16).<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Making the most of every opportunity.
