August 20, God is Faithful in the Fire

Our God is faithful. He is faithful.

He hears. He sees. He knows. He is faithful indeed. He is faithful in our moments of despair. He is faithful when there seems to be no answers. He is faithful.

He is faithful in the fire. Just ask the three young Hebrew men in the furnace. God steps into the fire with His children. He is faithful in the fire. The fourth man in the fire. He is faithful. He is there.

At this moment, Christians are being persecuted. At this very moment. While most of us are comfortable and safe, many brothers and sisters face death and martyrdom. At this very moment. We pray for them. May we pray for the glory of the Fourth Man in the fire to be seen by the nations.

Jesus said that the gates of hell will not prevail against His church. And we pray for this in Afghanistan. We pray for the church.

“Raise up the church O Lord. May your church arise stronger than ever before. Raise up your church in Afghanistan. And raise up your church here. You are faithful O God. You are faithful. Awaken your people. Awaken us from our petty differences and shallow attempts to worship you. Awaken us from words of praise that are weak and polluted with our sins. Awaken us from the error of bringing you offerings of praise that are not our best offerings, but only motions and words that are built upon works of flesh. Forgive us Lord. As our brothers and sisters face death, we cling to our comfort. Oh God forgive us. Why should we be spared from persecution? O may we worship You with all our heart and soul. O may we render to you a true heart of devotion. For God, you are faithful. You are faithful in the fire. You are faithful now. At this moment. You are with us. Let your church arise. You made Your church for such a moment as this. How can we sleep? Please awaken your church.

Amen
